"Erin is the editor authors dream to meet but seldom do. She is thorough, knowledgeable, and intuitive. Her gifted ability to polish our language and punctuation is like adding jewelry to that little black dress. Her professional touch naturally makes the written word sparkle."

About Erin Servais
I have worked in book publishing for more than a decade, first as a copy editor and copywriter and more recently as a sensitivity reader and author coach. In that time, I have developed specialties in women's fiction, romance, young adult, and business nonfiction, but I have helped to bring hundreds of titles to publication, including romance books that went on to be USA Today and Amazon best sellers and other award-winning titles. I have worked with a Big Five publisher and a major children’s publisher, but my favorite experiences have been helping women author-entrepreneurs who self-publish their manuscripts. I find inspiration in their independence, drive, and ingenuity and am happy that many clients go on to become my friends.
These writers report that I’m friendly and easy to work with, and many of my positive reviews come from compassion being a vital component of my editing process. I give constructive feedback and teach authors how to improve their books, but I do it without ego, putting us on equal levels. I give the books, and the people who penned them, both the care and respect they deserve.
When I’m not working on exciting manuscripts, I run social media campaigns for a local veterinary clinic, blog about grammar, and send snail mail to my pen pals. I live with my husband, our two cats, and our odd-shaped dog in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
